The strings/holography groups at the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) in Potsdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA) have joined in a new initiative: a virtual seminar series named “Quantum Gravity & Information” (QGI). The aim is to involve more researchers around the globe that are working on projects related to this exciting field, as a complement to our regular GQFI virtual seminars.
The selective use of new technology like virtual seminar rooms can help cut down on unnecessary travel and emissions. In addition, the initiative will help give researchers at institutions with smaller travel budgets better access to high quality speakers. A link to the virtual seminar room for each talk is sent out to participating groups via our mailing list. Anyone with the link can tune-in remotely to the live stream, ask questions, and participate in discussion.
In addition, the talks are typically recorded and posted on the GQFI YouTube channel, making them freely available to anyone, anywhere: https://www.youtube.com/c/GravityQuantumFieldsandInformationAEI
The current schedule of talks can be found below:
These talks are co-organized by Ro Jefferson of the GQFI group in Potsdam, as well as Shira Chapman, Claire Zukowski, and Jan de Boer of the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Amsterdam. If you are interested in being added to the mailing list to receive information (including the link to the virtual seminar room) for the QGI talks, as well as our regular GQFI virtual seminars, please email Ro Jefferson.
